Idiots there is no climate change, anymore than Bird Flu, Flu, or Covid. Freeloaders.

Buy some fans, sunglasses and blinds for the windows. And plenty of cold drinks. God-all-bleedin-mighty. Humanity’s survival abilities are diminishing by the day.

Just another example of the UK's race to the bottom. Funny thing is these dopes won't even know when they have arrived. Reminds me of Twentieth Century Motors in "Atlas Shrugged".

That book should be required reading!

😂 This is quite British, I have to say (I'm from Germany originally)!! In Germany, if the room temperature reaches 26°C the employer should provide drinking water and dress codes should be loosened (e. G. if you have to wear a suit it is permissable to get rid of the jacket and tie), if temperatures reach 30°C the employer has to implement these measurements. If the room temperature exceeds 35°C the environment is considered not suitable for work (your allowed to go home if your employer can't provide you with a cooler work space.

In general an employer should make sure the building is fit to work in during hot weather (providing blinds, insulation and ventilation) as ideally room temperatures should not exceed 26°.

I was working on an archaeological dig (the shovel and wheelbarrow not paintbrush type) during a heatwave in 2003 (about 35°C in the shade). We started work at 6am and finished at 2pm to avoid the heat.

How do you think people survive in countries were summer temperatures regularly exceed 30°C?

May I suggest the geniuses who brought us the Plandemic cancel Summer so we never have to suffer a heat wave again. Our comfort should be the governments highest priority and it should be free and offer no inconvenience.

Let them come work in South Africa for a Summer...

UK has a "cost of living crisis" which is in part a consequence of furlough. Let's just make it worse why don't we?

Actually, I agree with their Climate proposal but it needs to be based on data. If the climate is great, they receive reduced pay. If climate is bad, their pay is increased. If this is done right, there should not be any change to their compensation over time ;)

well, i could understand some of that...

"Other changes could include extra breaks, changing shift patterns to avoid the hottest times of day, and the provision of sun lotion."

some people / companies right now, start working at 4am and quit at noon. (local daylight wasting time, i'll never understand the stupid changing of the clocks)

with me, i used to start at 10 am ish and worked until sundown, everyone has a different idea about when the ideal time is to work. My grandmother used to be in the garden from an hour or so after sunrise to about 10am.

i've got an idea, don't want to work? don't.

leave the government out of it.

Better let these people know not to go to Australia then... We've been getting temperatures into the 30s just this week, even though it is still winter here.

Changing shift times would make some sense, for outdoor workers.

And for indoor workers, A/C might be cheaper in the long run than paying people to stay home.
