Here in Ohio, I just eat pancakes when ever I want. With maple syrup.

Like God intended.

"If you aren’t in the UK, do you still make pancakes today? If not, why not!? "

I'm gobsmacked such an observance has been withheld from American celebrat6ion calendars but intend to remedy it immediately. Some days it feels like I miss too much of the important stuff!

That’s hilarious - in the States we eat pancakes (fluffy kind) anytime, anywhere although I confess I don’t usually make them - we go to IHOP (International House of Pancakes). My step-dad had a wonderful recipe tho for cottage cheese pancakes - I know that sounds weird but they’re wonderful.

In the Southern hemisphere... I'll make pancakes in the winter and we won't have them just on one day. Still think they are best with plain old cinnamon sugar... Although my kids and husband would like them with Nutella or caramel.

Hope you enjoyed pancake day

Oh and the Brits do know how to make American pancakes... Just scale up those crumpets!

No, crumpets are a completely different entity!

My mouth is watering! I want pancake day! (Not the same just doing by yourself at home). I NEVER make pancakes, but I would if I heard the church pancake (Pavlov) bell 🤤

PS... I like the crepe pancakes better. So this would work out just great for me.

Pancake Day? Mardi Gras? Lol

I think a day devoted to pancakes is a marvelous idea. Why haven’t I heard of this before?!?

I remember seeing a mardi gras parade scene years ago in some detective show, but never been anywhere it was celebrated 🤷🏼

Thanks! You've helped me figure out "Blini Sunday" among the Russians, just prior to Orthodox Lent.

The Episcopal Church—created as was the post-Revolution USA from British origins, this being the Church of England—also mysteriously does pancakes in the evening. Now I know the origin!

Indeed! My Anglican church (in Texas) celebrated with pancakes on the day before the start of Lent.

The way you speak of then is so foreign to my New England ears. Butter, yes. Nutella, getting off base a bit. Stuffed with ham, pull the other one.

Stuffed? Crepe like? Then it's a crepe, not cake. No pretending. Flapjacks and pancakes 🥞, you stack, you butter, you syrup. Chocolate chips or sprinkles in the mix if you want variety inside, chopped up bananas or strawberries with whipped cream for fanciness. Other fruits to taste as well.

No ham you heathen.

Seriously ? Pancake Day??

You Brits are hilarious and sweet, too. BTW, for fluffy ones, buy the Aunt Jemima mix. OMG, those might be racist pancakes!
