Has there ever been a time--one time--in recorded history when someone WASN'T shrieking "the end is nigh?" Ever? That gene for apocalypsing, we need to breed it out of the stock.

Meanwhile, in the "climate collapse", it's Easter Sunday to use the christian veneer on the Eastra spring festival, and there's still ice and snow outdoors despite it being a whopping +15C heatwave.

So now state and regime media has switched to panic mode over a possible lack of drinking water. In a nation where more than 8% of the area is made up of lakes. The connecting waterways aren't included in that number.

Gee whiz, journos ya think maybe 30 years of neoliberalism and socialist democracy has something to do with it, since it was those governements who basically said "F*ck it" to maintenance and reinvestments in infrastructure in 1995 onwards?

And yet them Roman aqueducts are still standing. (If only they hadn't been so fond of lead pipes...)

Thank you, I now need to rewatch "Life of Brian", which fits since it's Easter.

"What have the romans ever done for us?" :)

Speaking of Rome, saw an exhibit at the National Museum in Copenhagen once, where replicas of greek/roman age stuff had been recoloured to resemble the original pigmentation. Egads, garish clashing colours galore! The boffins at the museum had used some kind of spectroscope on the originals to see how they had been painted originally.

See, this proves how crucial subversive comedy is to the formation of a discerning intellect and a nose for bullshit. We were lucky. These kids are impoverished.

Old medieval (pre-1400s) swedish law stated that travelling minstrels, fools and actors were not to be killed or maimed if their actions infuriated or mocked people, it was seen as a very unmanly and shameful act to show aggression to them.

However, they were also outside common law, as they ha no family or clan to back them up or be loyal to. The punishment for a "lekare" (roughly: player in the sense of actor) who brought a grievance was to shave the tail of a young cow, rub it with grease and tell the lekare to hold on to it. This was done in the town quare or on the common. If the player could hold on while the cow started to walk, he was in the right.

If not, the player was given a hiding using birch switches.

So while being outside society bought them the right to mock high and low, it also had a price.

Sorry, I have withdrawal pains from not teaching anymore, so any chance I get to drop tidbits or factoids I simply have to grab like Fat Freddy raiding the fridge after a midnight pot binge.

One step at a time. First we need to get rid of the super-state = the Davos gang of Psychopaths. All Western states are now subordinate to those creepy parasites. Globalism vs Nationalism is right now our battle for survival.

Expand full comment

Why do we have to "get rid of" them? If we utterly ignore them and work around them, ie, do not engage, will they not wither and die?

Expand full comment

That's what I mean, get them off of our collective backs. Of course, in a just society where the rule of law prevails, when crimes have been committed the perpetrators must be determined and brought to justice.

Expand full comment

I know, it's kind of a question, how far do we go to get them "off our backs"? HOW do we achieve that? I'm not of the opinion that trying to "battle" them, as in, becoming soldiers, will be the way. I'm thinking more like creative ways of not giving them what they want. Disengage. DITCH THE SMART PHONES might be a good start!

The End times are near, very near. Not due to climate change, cyberattacks, pandemics or other invented crisis. The End times are the Global ruling Psychos seizing complete control over all nations and implementing their worldwide techno-feudal state. Combined with major population reduction through forced vaccination.

I'll one up you. Remember the monthly atom bomb exercises in the early 50's - when we were taught to cower under our elementary school desks, hands over our heads, during air raid siren tests. (Whilst our fathers planned back yard fallout shelters?

Yes, I remember those drills from the early sixties. Circa 1961 give or take. One of my friends had a serious fall out shelter in their back yard, with the wheel thing on the entrance to hermetically seal you inside. Scared the shit out of me then, still does.

I remember that too. My father had brochures for the fallout shelters but never had one put in.

“Why do temperature ADJUSTMENTS correlate with CO2? The probability that this happens by chance is shockingly close to zero.”

“It is proof of man-made climate change – created by adjusting the temperature data to fit a premise – that man-made CO2 released into the atmosphere is driving temperature.”

It is a scam. We already knew that from the climate gate emails.

Only an idiot, useful or not, would believe these charlatans.

Arctic sea ice is a problem. And it has catastrophically declined in the last 30-40 years with an increase in that decline over the last decade. These days you don't get too much multi-year sea ice as you used to which means that it collapses a lot easier in the summer.

There's also no denying the ridiculously warm temperatures along the Arctic coast in Russia and Norway over the last few years.

If you can ignore the he/him in his profile then Zack Labe is quite good on this topic;

Check the Ice Age article on Wikipedia and focus on charts carefully. Understand the timing and the temperature changes over this time. Decide for yourself if humans are involved. Decide for yourself if you see some cycles on these charts. Guess what should happen in the nearest geological future if we continue the trends from the past.

Expand full comment

Predictions are hard, and putting a time limit makes them even harder. But greenhouse gases are key to increased heating of the Earth's surface, and the trends are clear.

Expand full comment

Well, on the charts I see a stable cycle of 100k years of glaciation (ice over most of Europe) and a short 10-15k years of warm temperatures. The cycle repeats many times over the last million years. We are in 12+k year into the warm period. So geologically soon (from tomorrow to next 3-5 thousand years) we switch into a new Ice age with a mile of ice over Berlin. So yes, forecasting is hard, greenhouse gases are dangerous, people killing the planet and other stuff you like.

Here's Prof. Wadhams on a climate panel in 2021. Within the first minute, the host tells us experts agree we could face an ice free arctic summer as early as 2030. That's as far as I could get. https://youtu.be/s3BcLES5gCA?t=49 My only concern, the climate movement will be implementing lessons learned from covid management.

Quite probably they will. The good news is that covid has created quite a few people newly sceptical of government and establishment science and the games they play.

Climate science is much like the pharmaceutical world of manipulated studies and captured regulators.

Actually this was a decent argument: BUT sea ice is artificially and temporarily sustained by the vast volume of very cold water flowing from the vast melting icecaps of Greenland and the Antarctic: its really hard to measure, but imagine that you have a G&T on your desk with four ice cubes, that will melt in roughly 20 minutes if left at room temperature.

Then plunge the G&T into a bucket of melting ice: obviously the cubes will survive for longer.

And add to that a war with Russia. Next a massive cyberattack. It's coming. These less-than-worthless Davos Psychopath Parasites just can't let the World run smoothly. They much remind me of the Parable of the Asshole:

You don't need brains to be a Boss.

When the body was first created, all the parts wanted to be Boss. The brain said, "I should be Boss because I control all of the body's responses and functions."

The feet said, "We should be Boss since we carry the brain about and get him to where he wants to go."

The hands said, "We should be the Boss because we do all the work and earn all the money."

Finally, the asshole spoke up. All the parts laughed at the idea of the asshole being the Boss. So, the asshole went on strike, blocked itself up and refused to work.

Within a short time, the eyes became crossed, the hands clenched, the feet twitched, the heart and lungs began to panic, and the brain fevered. Eventually, they all decided that the asshole should be the Boss, so the motion was passed. All the other parts did all the work while the Boss just sat and passed out the shit!

Moral Of The Story: You don't need a brain to be a Boss----any asshole will do.
