But the "you need me to tell you what to do/think/believe/wear/eat" is the basis of every religion too.
Every organizing principle of civilization is that someone somewhere always knows better than you do about what's good for you. And every revolution overthrowing a dictatorship turns immediately into a dictatorship but of course it's a better one *really truly absolutely* for your own best good.
I agree, except for lumping all religions together. If you believe in Jesus Christ, that he died for our sins and you repent of your sins
and follow him, that's all you need. The rest is church dogma. However if the world loved God with all their heart, soul and mind and loved their neighbor as themselves, we would have the world God created for us. Too bad we are humans who fail everyday to do two simple things.
That's why I prefer peaceful anarchism- it understands that nobody anywhere, knows whats good for you, more than you. And it doesn't turn into a dictatorship for "your own good".😉
Philosophical systems are great for everything except real life. Family units can't even function on peaceful anarchy, and part of raising kids is making clear to them that they don't always know what's good for them better than the parent does. Eventually, unfortunately, at certain stages of life, they start to know what's better for the parent than the parent does. That shift in the balance of power can be brutal for all concerned...
This was my eureka! moment during the pandemic. I was listening to a lot of True Crime podcasts, specifically about coercive controllers and I thought, hang on, this is exactly what the government are doing to us. Then I read the SAGE report and it totally backed up my theory.
Absolutely true! Thanks for your courage and insight right from the beginning of the pandemic, Ivor. Yours was one of the first sane, and factual, voices that I found.
In April this year I wrote an article for Brownstone Institute exploring in depth how we have been emotionally abused throughout the pandemic. Here is the the link to: "Open Letter to an Emotionally Abused World," for those who are interested: https://brownstone.org/articles/open-letter-to-an-emotionally-abused-world/
Is it that we can’t think for ourselves, or that we don’t want to, or is it a “herd” instinct type thing where we just melt into the crowd and hope we don’t get picked to be eaten by the predators?
The average person absolutely uses herd instinct, whether consciously or not.
They learn at an early age that fitting in is survival. As long as there is electricity, plenty to eat, internet and entertainment for escapism, and enough money to cover self-interests, change is unlikely. Rebellions typically happened in the past when things became so grim that the risk of fighting outweighed the risk of enduring.
(And people weren't hypnotized then by audio-visual entertainment and the 24-hour news cycle that keeps people in a constant state of uncertainty, information overload, and thus, paralysis.)
Social Security: They tell me I actually ought to be happy with my take, and I would if it showed a good return on investment. But the cost of government has eaten it up. Bullshit, the cost of them ripping it all off has eaten it up. The regular Social Security check should be 4.5 times higher or even more, this isn't government waste, its government corruption.
And another thing, "Taxed on baked goods, people should be out in the streets!" I saw that on some show, beautifully delivered.
I’ve always resented the concept of Social Security - they take my money “for my own good” and keep it until I’m of an age where they decide I can have it back, at which time they dole it out in small, regular amounts. Don’t get me started on the Medicare scheme...
Well, like it or not, it is good for some people, hell, most people.
And it is good you can't opt out, except they rip off the funds for everything, and worst of all, dole them out to fools that never paid a penny into the system. Or let me clarify, to fools moms. Ever wonder about the 22 year old that stabbed his mom to death, he did it for a $20 she wouldn't front him the money for till payday.
Time to divorce the Government!
Yes indeed.

You are more than welcome to believe that. Freedom of thought and conscience are foundational values for me.

Its too busy NOT being a dictatorship.🤣😂

Clap clap clap!
(No, not gonorrhea!)
Applause!

I'm not Ivor! But hopefully still a sane and factual voice!
they have no fear of ever being stopped, they laugh at us and mock us...........rigged elections

Brilliant. So true.
Right? No wonder I haven't dated in years. I am in an abusive relationship with my jealous, possessive Gouvernement!!

But I feel your pain, Celayne, I really do.
Loved that when I first saw it in 2021 and still do.
It's good to keep these things alive, especially with the UK inquiry currently trying to convince us otherwise.
I am in no way trying to trivialize the holocaust, but "never forget" applies here just the same.
Ditto
Your government wants you maimed, sterilized, sick and then dead, after they steal your money, of course.
You haven't had the full experience until you come to Trudeauland, also known as Canada, a former Democracy fallen on hard times...
but: you will ALWAYS have hockey lol
In the government's defense, it is only because they love us soooo much.
HAHAHAHA! ‼️😂
I did a piece My government is my Stalker
