My son is 14. If anyone thinks in 4 years time I’ll let him get dragged into an insane and pointless conflict with Russia, they can think on. And we are a military family.

Good for you! That's what we want to hear.

We stole 4 years of their lives....we are not going to let the owners of the world use our children as fodder for their moneyed interests.

This is not a snotty retort but a serious question. Were you old enough to have views on American Vietnam war-era "draft dodgers" and if so, what did you think of them?

I was still a teenager. In the effective absence of alternative voices, I totally accepted the 'domino theory' and believed the American actions were for the good of the 'free" world. At the time I did not approve of Mohammed Ali's position as a conscientious objector.

Now I am in the anti-war camp, but it took the WMD in Iraq lies to open my eyes. After than I learned about False Flag events and the false dichotomy "You are either with us or you are with the terrorists' - G.W. Bush. And stories of the USS Maine, the Lusitania, Pearl Harbour, the Gulf of Tonkin Incident, Operation Northwoods, Operation Gladio, 9/11, the Arab Spring, the Maidan Putsch, the claims of Gadhaffi providing Viagra and Bashar al Assad gassing his own people, and on and on, all illustrating and confirming the pattern. The USA and its partners in the 5 Eyes have employed smear tactics and repressed critics, They have consistently identified minority and malcontented groups in a myriad of countries, given them support and training to undertake operations to overthrow their governments, ostensibly in pursuit of genuine democracy (purple thumb voters, must be legitimate) in phased programs of propaganda and financial support followed by violence if the soft power does not work. There is no going back when you recognize the evil actions, the poisonous words no longer work.

When "Animal House" came out, I and my two friends went to see it. A row in front of us was a comparable group of women. Everyone else in the audience was young'uns.

We six were the only ones who got what Neidermeier's threat really meant; one of us had had a boyfriend (later husband) whose bad grades had meant he was in grave danger of flunking out and being drafted.

And then there was this. I'm not so approving of self-promotion via comments threads but even all these years later I think this boy ought to be remembered.

Yes I was there and was part of the draft resistance and proud of it. It is nothing more than human sacrifice, and it was the courageous people who refused to be beaten into submission by ill-informed ridicule and scorn. They lived! We assisted those in the military who wanted OUT. We understood they were being used as pawns in an immoral war of conquest, and were not the decision makers. And no, we did not spit on them!

Speaking personally as an Aussie, I was old enough to go on the Anti-Vietnam war Moratorium protest marches in 1969.

It was obvious to many of us that it was a pointless and unnecessary war.

That's poignant.

I have a cousin who was conscripted for Vietnam (here in Australia we had the birthday ballot), balls blown off by a mine.

My father at 18 volunteered in 1944, was a radio operator in Borneo, and saw things that no young lad should see, mates being blown up. He never talked about it, but suffered PTSD for the rest of his life.

War is terrible.

Not just the violence, but the young men going off to be sacrificed because of the political machinations of the old - one of the most evil things imaginable.

No one in the West is going to go to war.....not after what they did in 2020 . I think they don't quite realize yet that most of us are awake to the owners of the world, the crap they've been feeding us, the fact that our country was stolen years ago....they can beat the damn drums anytime they want, but

My gut feeling is that none of us is gonna fall for any of this crap anymore.

As long as the militaries provide a "Safe Area", like the universities, then the soldiers can die without their beliefs being challenged. So many confused people will dodge the Draft due to the broad definition of "mental illness" and "belief system" overlapping. Only the sane will die? Pulling a "Corporal Klinger" may get a promotion, and a transfer to Space Farce?

I'd like to believe that enough of the population has wised up, but I think a lot of hard work to convince the masses who were betrayed is still ahead of us.

Expand full comment

yeah, that's what my substack is gonna be about. But I realized in ruminating on this for many months now, on how to do it, I've realized a few things: it's the emotional crisis they don't want to face ... of being betrayed, so it's about first how to process emotional crises on such a level ... I think many people just don't have those skills. So I think those skills need to come first. I also believe those who figured this out still have some processing to do too. Anger only gets a person so far and there's still a lot of anger around, I think. I also think we don't need everyone to do this, there's a critical mass of a relatively small number of people before it'll be everyone all at once. Tipping point. That's my theory anyway :).

I concur. Change does not require actions from the majority but from a substantial motivated minority which can articulate its motivating principles.

There is only one war worth noting right now that we have all been made aware of over the past 3 years and that is the war between the globalists and the people and now sooo many people are awake to the silent civil war fought with quiet weapons that I can’t wait for the call up to come because then the self styled emperors will be paraded as naked when the public turn their back on their call to arms. Fuck the deep state and fuck their endless wars, bring it on I dare you and watch the tumbleweeds when you call us up...

Right on Steve Chase. When those who “defend our freedom” send tanks into DC and Langley I’ll believe they’re defending my freedom. Putin is absolutely no threat to my freedom. But those 2 million blood suckers in the Federal Govt threaten it every day.

Context is everything. Putin can do what ever he wants to his own people. Not my problem. my point is, Putin hasn’t given me a reason to dislike him at a personal level., my own government seems to have recently forgotten that they serve the people not rule it and the people have no interest in foreign misadventures. Plus they forced my family to take invasive and unnecessary medical procedures because we aren’t vaccinated.

The moment the Russian federation starts impacting Americans on a daily basis and not as some agitprop, I will reconsider my position.

Hopefully enough young people know by now that you won't be fighting for God & Country. You'll just be more cannon fodder for the Ruling Globalist Elites/Banksters for their campaign for a World Tyranny run by them. That's called shooting yourself in the foot. I wonder if they will take a page out of Ukraine's book and draft women and old men to die on the Russian front to aid in their desire to conquer the entire World. Note NATO wants to move into South America. NATO is slowly being morphed into WACO = World Alliance for Control & Oppression.

If the military was fighting to protect our freedoms then how did they not notice that our freedoms have been rescinded through various acts? Like the patriot act and Obama rescinding habeas corpus? You’d think that the pentagon would have noticed those 2 things…but nary a word from it.

I severed in one stupid war that achieved nothing just like all the wars since. The US has lost every war since Korea and spent/wasted Trillions and killed millions while achieving nothing except making enemies of the rest of the planet. GWB invaded Iraq on a false a pretense and Vincent Bugliosi wrote “The Prosecution of GWB for Murder” to prove it. Now they want us to believe that after poking Russia in the eye for years, their response was not just to hold the line by supporting their border but to invade Europe all along. These evil bastards belong in hell.

Besides the bankers funding both sides of wars, a lot of them are so that the globalists can steal country’s resources. One reason we’ve been bombing Yemen is for an oil pipeline. Same thing with Syria and then of course Trump told us that we were staying there to steal Syria’s oil and crops.

We stayed in Afghanistan for another oil pipeline and of course because just before we went in a trillion worth of minerals were found.

Our troops are sent overseas to kill civilians that hadn’t threatened us and to support the terrorists that we fund. ISIS has been brought out of retirement to help Israel defeat its enemies with the help of America.

War is definitely a racket.

How about not nato soldiers not to be placed along Russia’s border. How about getting rid of zelensky, how about peace. Nobody can make big money on peace. That is what is really driving this charade. Call it was it is.

There is absolutely no chance of a war with Russia, deranged psychopaths who really really love war would have to be in charge for that to happen. Oh shit...

Disagree with part of your phrase "deranged psychopaths who really really love war".

The "deranged psychopaths" is very obviously true, but "who love war" might be more accurately stated as, "deranged psychopaths who really, really, crave the power, and the wealth, so easily accrued in times of war".

The Russians aren't going to attack anyone! They are doing what they said they would in the Ukraine. They are doing so because NATO and the West pushed themselves up far too close and personal after saying they wouldn't. What do you think the USA would do if Russia or China put troops or weapons in Canada or Mexico?

The majority of the public in the West won't fight anyone. The public school boys are either already officers or are too woke to join up. The former tough Geordies/Scots/Irish who used to make up the squaddies aren't tough anymore (no longer any tradition of heavy industry to toughen them up). The swathes of immigrants aren't going to fight for a foreign country they dispise and only live in for the freebies. The genuine refugees from warzones left their own countries exactly because they didn't want to fight.

The Russians are not interested in a war with the West. They invaded Ukraine for two reasons:

1. US Bioweapons labs

2. Genocide of Russian speaking population in Donbas and Donetsk.

They had been putting up with western pressure on their borders since 2014. That camel’s back was going to snap, and it did. The western leaders see this as another way to depopulate and transfer wealth.

Anyone see an issue here?

Decades of fiscal deficits now cost more than double the PROPOSED increase in defence spending.

Deficits have made us indefensible - well, unless we invade Russia and steal all their resources.
