I read, as I recall, a short story in the early 80's with a similar theme. I think it was part of an anthology. In it, the protagonist wakes up one day to find that the Earth had moved into a region of space that made everyone brilliant and inventions cures exploded. Something about moving into or out of some "field". Of course at the end of the story they went back to normal and no one knew how to work anything lol.

It is suggested that while we are approaching a major tipping point in the earths cosmic life, leading to a great awakening of humanity, the cabal have foreseen this for a long time & have been working to dumb us down, depopulate so there are less to manage, set us against each other with gender politics & mass immigration.
