The artificial sweetener thing strikes close to home. An in-law nephew is suffering from type 1 diabetes (and a host of other stuff) and is losing his eyesight and muscle control....but how much of it is diabetes and how much is aspartame, splenda, etc? I can't talk to the family about this, they will dismiss it and see me (the widowed in-law) as the enemy and I don't want to lose them as family...
