Not so sure that the violence will be worse if Trump wins. There is basically no chance of the Democrats winning other than by cheating, either directly or through their millions of illegals. So if they do win, I’d imagine the rest of the country will find it very hard to accept. Fool me twice. I know that at that point if I were American I’d be ready to fight to the end. It is simply not possible to live with the left any more - honourable death would be preferable to watching the country sink beyond the horizon.

My thoughts on spirituality are complicated. I love many ancient holy books.

I think the common thread between the ones I love is the Golden Rule. I sometimes refer to myself as a "Christian Agnostic" for short.

I’m one of coming to Christianity because of the evil I see around me. I was born into the religion, but never took an interest……until now.

Read Exodus.

Storyline: Israelites in Egypt were leading a good life living on the Nile Delta. They were materially well off. They didn’t need God. So they thought.

Then the pharaoh turned on them. Enslaved them, killed their children. The good old days were gone.

In the depths of despair the Israelites turned back to God to save them.

He did. He brought plagues down on Egypt. He brought the Israelites out of enslavement in Egypt to the land of plenty, but only on condition they recognised him & worshipped him for what he had done for them. They did so because there was no longer any doubt about the existence of God & what he can do.

See any parallels to today?

Just like you don’t have to love Trump to hate and fear the treasonous crimes used against him, you don’t have to accept all of the ancient religious dogma to appreciate the underlying themes/principles that have given Western society so much beneficial guidance. Hierarchy breeds power and corruption and exposure of abuse is the cure regardless of the organization, government, religious or corporate.

It's not so much Christianity as Judeo-Christianity. The values spelled out in the Ten Commandments were among the writings that inspired James Madison when he wrote the US Constitution.

Thank you for the news, especially the article on Christianity. Personally, I have no issue with supernatural claims, given the classes of phenomena across disciplines that are

being repressed, i.e. NDE, Third Man, prayer studies, quantum physics, mystics, homeopathy, panpsychism, paranormal studies and anecdotes, anthropological studies of different modes of perception yielding different realities in different cultures, psilocybin and other enhanced perception drugs, or with symbolic allegory narratives, that might be metaphorically true and not literally true. We lost the awareness of ourselves as collections of personalities, subroutines, and evolved behaviors, identified by psychology as it used to exist, and evolutionary biology and psychology, and though I don't feel I need immortal life (I think I have it), nor do I want to literalize or fetishize a text, I think it might be that Judeo-Christian tradition can (if not hijacked by the power and money hungry, who exterminate people) pull us away from our worst proclivities, like chimp frenzies and sadism, and align us with what is as yet unrevealed in our spiritual selves, a way in which we align, at a quantum level, with a design nested within us, that has the potential to detoxify our evolved worst selves. When Thich Nhat Hanh died I had the absolutely weirdest feeling that he just hadn't changed all that much, that he was already living in a reality we can't feel or see due to our conditioning. I think the materialist paradigm is falling, but we've got to find a way to synthesize our ancient wisdom which recognizes our worst capacities and denatures them, especially as those worst selves are being actively and hourly cultivated.

Masks is new unredacted info. Mars rocks - you're either interested in that subject or not. Cultural Christians is an interesting current trend - suddenly all the same voices are saying the same thing again.

Cheer up
