The story "The enduring ghastliness of Alastair Campbell" caught my eye in the Daily Must Reads. As a reader of the Spectator back in my comatosed days, the cliquey bias and unashamed sanctimony of most contributors was thinly veiled if at all. I was, therefore, somewhat surprised that Burchill opened the piece by talking of her fondness of Derek Draper. Most everything I've ever heard or read about the man spoke of what an odious, nasty, communist he was, pretty much a pea out of the same pod as Campbell.
