We’re floating on the same plane. Each of the topics you’ve covered , I’ve archived in the past two weeks.
Most startling, all were predicted by Aldous Huxley. He so explicitly detailed the confluence of events in Brave New World c 1932, the embryos, Pharma, technology, transhumanism, censorship, fear, fascism, complete control… and it was fiction… all of it, but he culled from fellow scientists, industrialization and a vision of dystopia.
Essentially, he prophesied the Nazi regime, Stalinism and the Great Reset transhumanism, New World Order and the propaganda allowing it coming to fruition.
Schwab’s tagline, “ You’ll own nothing, have no privacy and be happy” is nearly word for word used by “His Fordship, Moustapha Mon”. “ AF” is “ After Ford” , Ford was the replacement for God. The Model-T had just rolled out, the start of assembly line industrialization. Henry Ford was Hitler’s inspiration. And when Hitler came to power, Henry Ford was only too happy to collaborate.
I always thought that BNW was more realistic than 1984.
Sadly, we got both ... With a dash of The Matrix and no small amount of Lois Lowry's undersung dystopia, The Giver. But the 1984 is so obvious, they seem to have little choice but to double down on the BNW and The Giver angle. (I'm not sure what's going on with The Matrix angle but it seems to me that Humanity has given a BIG "Thumbs Down" to realistic androids -- as accurately predicted by Asimov in I, Robot -- sooooo ... I have hope that we've nipped that one in the bud.)
Personally, I choose NONE OF THE ABOVE.
Side note: I'm "That Person" when it comes to grammatical style. (As in, I know the rules of proper writing and prefer to stick to them when at all possible.) I refuse to put book or movie titles in quotes, because that is inaccurate. (Chapters, episodes, and short stories -- I think -- belong in quotes -- full books and movies should be italicized or underlined.) Is it possible to do that down here in the comments? The computer I'm currently using gives me the option to add emojis 😒 ... But not elements of style. (Can we say, "Dumbing down of the English Language," anyone?)

Thank you for the news roundup. I have to seriously disagree with your statement that "AI will save the world," when even some of its developers and promoters such as Elon Musk and Sam Altman are calling for a slowdown because no one has even bothered to address the ethical issues yet. In my book Words from the Dead, I review Samuel Butler's utopian fantasy Erewhon, a fictional society that made a decision to limit its use of technology. This resulted from a society-wide conversation on the respective harms and benefits of particular technologies, keeping only those that on balance offered more social benefits than harms. We aren't even having the conversation! Instead, it's the same old Big Tech mantra: "All technology is automatically good and advances humankind." This is pure marketing and nonsense. Think: the nuclear bomb. Biological warfare. Pesticides and herbicides, pharmaceuticals with more side effects than health benefits, etc., etc., etc.

RE Decline in interest in the news. Of course, but that is MSM news. As people wake up they discover they are being systematically lied to (generally by omissions). And, they are tired of being hectored. It would be interesting to have a time-graph of readership of all the substacks that try to hew to the truth.

Re the Telegraph lab leak article, this paragraph leapt out at me:
"The virologist also confirmed to The Telegraph that she had attended a conference on the Nipah virus in Singapore, in December 2019, alongside Dr Zhengli Shi, the senior scientist at the Wuhan lab and “many other” researchers from the WIV. Colleagues say if there had been a leak and three of her juniors were ill she would not have been there."
It made me think of all the adamant claims of asymptomatic spread. If the whole asymptomatic spread thing were true, then the above assertion would be meaningless, wouldn't it? 🧐
