Is there a common link between readers?

As someone interested in psychology, I am intrigued as to what personality types subscribe to this newsletter.

I first conducted this poll just over a year ago but as soon as people started voting I realised I had made a mistake. I didn’t provide an option for people to view the results, so people were clicking on the first answer just to see how many votes there were. I also had far fewer subscribers last year so hopefully the poll will be bigger this time.

Some people view these tests as voodoo nonsense or like reading Tarot cards but reading about my personality type definitely rings true to me and gives me a lot to self-reflect on. Some won’t do the tests because they aren’t interested and others because they don’t want to give away personal information (newsflash - they already can access all this information about you if you are that important and they deem it necessary). Even if you hate these tests, just do it as a bit of fun!

Myers-Briggs is one of the most popular personality indicators which many of you may have tested yourselves for in the past. I will therefore use this one to save some of you time. If you have never tested yourself, 16personalities.com is a quick and interesting website where you can do so.

The results are divided into 16 categories looking at:

• Introversion (I) vs Extraversion (E);

• Intuition (N) vs Observing (S);

• Feeling (F) vs Thinking (T); and

• Prospecting (P) vs Judging (J).

Furthermore, there are four groups, each with four types:

• Analysts (INTJ/INTP/ENTJ/ENTP);

• Diplomats (INFJ/INFP/ENFJ/ENFP);

• Sentinels (ISTJ/ISFJ/ESTJ/ESFL); and

• Explorers (ISTP/ISFP/ESTP/ESFP).

Which personality type are you? I have had to create 4 separate polls (because substack limits you to max 5 answers) but please only vote once or click on ‘I just want to view the results’ if you have already voted. All answers are anonymous so don’t worry, I can’t see who has voted for what.

I would also be interested to know the age range of my readers. Again, all anonymous, don’t worry!
