Here's another good reason people might want to become a paid subscriber to your site.

The No. 1 "Science" Substack is a newsletter from Your Local Epidemiologist. "Our" local epidemiologist simply regurgitates the guidance of the CDC and WHO. Still, her site has over 211,000 subscribers and 10 percent are (allegedly) "paid" subscribers (a paid ratio far greater than most Substackers). This means this lady has 21,000 paid subscribers and, in fact, became a millionaire from producing her always-wrong epidemiology.

I say some of us have to counter her propaganda.

Covid contrarians put Substack on the map ... but the No. 1 Covid Substacker (apparently/perhaps the richest) is a lady that just repeats what Fauci says.

This is kind of perplexing and disconcerting .. We'll know we've won the war when all or most of her Subscribers come over to our sites.

Good luck. I'll try to become a paid subscriber in the future. Like many people, one of my "inflation work-arounds" (sadly) is cutting back on paid subscriptions. Don't apologize or feel guilty for asking for paid subscriptions. We've got to do this to make a little money.

I did a one-week subscription drive two months ago and netted 52 new paid subscribers. I've since added - in net after attrition - only two (!). My take-away: Once in a while, you've got to ask for the sale.

I think the unsung heroes of the "freedom movement" are the people who are supporting their favorite writers with paid subscriptions. As I've learned, many of these readers are subscribing to many Substacks.

You have a great and important Substack.

Don't laugh. My goal was to get 840 new paid subscribers in one week. That would have set the Guiness Book of World Records for "new Substack subscribers in one week" and given me an even number of 1,000 paid subscribers. This is actually the number I need to make a living from this gig. Alas, I didn't go into the record books and make the eye-opening "statement" I wanted to make. But, still, by shooting for the sun, I reached the moon - 52 paid subscribers let me make two mortgage payments.
