Nudge sounds so much nicer than PsyOp manipulation, right?

I would much rather be nudged than manipulated in a PsyOp. What, it's the same thing..you tricked me, how unethical!

This is the sketch what always comes to my mind when I read the word nudge.

The nudge he was given does sound like something that would only work on a lab monkey.

I had the inconvenience of having to visit my GP surgery today to fill in a change of address form which apparently I was not able to do over the telephone (ironic that they do their best to keep the sick away but insist I come in for mere paperwork!). Sign outside saying masks still mandatory which I ignored. Got dirty looks from one of the sheep queuing at reception but nobody challenged me. Three staff in there:- one with a rainbow NHS lanyard but no mask complaining about the number of doctors off sick, one with a mask under his chin pushing a trolley and the receptionist behind perspex screens wearing one until she has to speak then slipping it down then back up. I felt like I was observing zoo animals rather than human beings.

In Canada, a sparsely populated nation with consistently long cold winters where electric battery warmers are often needed for regular vehicles, we are being furiously nudged towards electric-only vehicles by every possible media outlet, because of "climate change". Not hybrids, which make more sense for us. But we have not ramped up electricity production in logical anticipation of need, and have very few charging stations OR battery warming facilities (essential for starting the EVs in winter) between far-apart cities, so how are EVs supposed to traverse the long distances between cities and between provinces, especially over the Rockies? Answer: a different nudge to make us stop travelling altogether?

Ironic, because 'global warming' would help Canada tremendously.

I could use some right about now!

Your car not working *is* the nudge.

Expand full comment

Yes. We are being nudged in NY to stop heating our homes with anything other than electricity. Oh and yes, gas stoves for cooking will also be banned. They want you to freeze and starve.

Nudging worked beautifully in the initial March 2020 global lockdowns where the ONLY leader who "followed the science" was the Health Minister of Sweden, Anders Tegnell. And that was ONLY because at the time under Swedish law the politicians couldn't control his decisions.

Ohhh ... this nudging BS irritates me no end. It is so insidious and I’ve encountered it recently in situations that have nothing to do with Covid. I resent being lectured to by some government/corporate entity that doing whatever is for everyone’s welfare. I’ll make up my own mind, thank you very much, and if I decide to do it - emphasize on “I” - I will. Where can I find a copy of that poster?

The Socratic Method unravels all the nonsense. I do not think the BS will work again.

Then why have they stopped showing up for shot # 3 across the West ? Millions of doses are in the garbage. Quite the contrary, the feckless have re-evaluated their "calculation" and have concluded that they cannot comply their way out of tyranny.

Boy that cried Wolf.

One of the oldest tales going. Have they nudged the majority into ignoring them? Or is there one big scare left?

And like the tale, will we ignore them when it really counts?

This is what happens when you have no integrity.

In 1974, Dr. Carol Rosin was warned by Dr. Wernher von Braun about a series of events that will happen in the near future, all of which will be based on lies. The 'Last Card' that remains is an extraterrestrial invasion.

The version I was told as a wee nipper was that on the third false call, the villagers tied the boy to a tree deep in the forest, then cut him to draw blood, and left him for the wolf.

I think that's the original, pre-Brothers Grimm tidying up old folk tales for their urban bourgeois audience?

In the original Hans Christian Anderson story "The Emperor's New Suit", the village people murder the boy who speaks the truth, not because they think he is lying but because they know he is right. The publishers nixed this version.

Let's assume best intentions, which is a bit of a stretch to put it mildly.

I can understand kneejerk reactions at the outset, such as emergency hospitals, even two weeks to flatten the curve and masks ( although we didn't have enough anyhow ), but after a couple of months what we are looking at is catastrophic ineptitude.

Let's be clear, it is a failure of the whole cabinet AND the opposition leadership.

I'm sure I'm not alone in recognising that when you are making huge policy decisions with widespread consequences you ACTIVELY SEEK OUT the bad news (policy blunder) & possible consequences and if you are the one with the bad news you make sure your CEO is fully aware of it.

This didn't happen, it seems our PM was nudged all the way and the cabinet were no more use than nodding dogs.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that the 'average' person would likely not speak up in these circumstances, but if we keep electing 'average' people into positions of power then they(and we) will forever be easy prey at the mercy of professional lobbyists and influencers.

Which is, at best, exactly what we are watching.

We need to elect real people with real life experience who are not afraid of questioning the 'facts' and certainly wouldn't tolerate anything less than truth to aid decision making.

I'm hard pressed to remember anyone not delivering an honest picture to me in my time as a senior manager in a very busy multi site manufacturing operation, and I'm absolutely sure it never happened twice.

We are being led by donkeys, not for the first time.

I see they removed the whip from Andrew Bridgen today, a sure sign that we are not dealing with 'best intentions', an example to the rest to stay sat down and shut up... the antithesis of science and truth

Yup, got a smallish wrecking ball here named "other dude!" It's being held to the wall with one of those previously mentioned masks spoken of with a smallish candle lit below the strings.

The thing is, I can't take full measure of umbrage when every cult everywhere--including what's so deceptively labeled as "mainstream religion"--nudges the populace from birth to death.

Really now--how many people don't believe in something some other person has told them, waving written documents around as irrefutable proof--is absolutely true?

TBH you want a leader impervious to these.

However, feels like BoJo was in on it early on and became a global example of COVID nobbling everyone ( I literally sighed when I heard he was in hospital), or actually got reeducation in his hospital bed. Seemed to come just after the pivot away from natural herd immunity IIRC.

The Expose' -- a British news service that publishes contrary-to-the-narrative news -- is on the verge of shutting down. They are totally reader funded. They lost 75% of their paid subscribers when Paypal kicked them off, and then in October their bank account was frozen. They're in the top three news sources I recommend and I think it would be a major loss if they close down.

Please subscribe (any amount of money per month is acceptable) and/or make a one-time donation if you possibly can. Here's a link where you'll see a list of some of their recent publications (which you can read online or receive as emails), and there's a donate button in the top right corner.
