It could be that they have government contracts. The contracts were all rewritten to require everyone working on them be vaccinated no matter the location. I am 100% remote worker who was required to vaccinate in October 2021. Funny thing, I got COVID in December 2021 along with the rest of the unvaxxed family. I applied for a med + relig exemption and it was denied. By the time the mandate took effect I had already had nat covid (aug 21) and had antibodes and T cells. But this valley place denied me. I applied for prviileges at Holy name hosp in Teaneck NJ w a rel exemption and they granted it.

Many people seemd to get it. Once I mentioned to a patient and her spouse in an exam room that I thought any pediatrician that advised otherwise health children to get this shot was committing malpractice. This patients spouse actually knew a pediatrician in the area and she told this peds doc what I said. This pediatrician called my office , spoke to my office manager and he threatened to not refer patients to us anymore. Which angered one of my partners cause one of my partners is a pediatric ophthamologist. SO i had a yelling argument in my office... One of a bunch. AND ON AND ON.... disgusting
When I was dropped from the hospital and had to go to another one, I was not able to take emergency backup call, which meant that all the other docs on staff had to take more call. Our call is not stressful by any means. 3-4 weeks a year and it is not that busy . So I am in a group of 4 docs including me. I got dropped from the call group. The other doctors in the other offices that share the call with me and my 3 partners said they would not pick up the slack b/c I was part of a group so taking the extra call fell entirely on my three partners. ANd these three partners , one of them in particular wanted me to PAY them for it. There were other situations as well. Suffice to say that the whole episode has been utterly heartbreaking. I've lost respect for most of my colleagues. Some of them, a very few, never bought ANY of this nonsense and we have formed a block.
One eye doc , a friend, is an individual who was actually born with NO legs cause his mom took Thalidomide. NO legs... He worked for Valley hospital directly , I am in private practice. but the hospital FIRED him for not taking the shot.

For a long time there was a school mask mandate. I fought this viciously. It was finally repealed in February 2021. On that day I stopped wearing the mask in my medical office. And I got into all kinds of arguments and fights over it. I absolutely refused. And I have not worn a mask since then. At this point almost nobody in my office wears them.

I know right. Its absolutely amazing! He's a great person. He's married w kids and a wonderful human being. He protested the shot and said that he was already injured ONCE by a defective dangerous pharmaceutical product. why should he risk it again?

I’m sorry you went through this and hope you are finding the new hospital a better fit. As for the state of NJ, that’s a bigger problem to fix. Being in the northeast, I can relate. Spouse is headed to the ophthalmologist for a routine check - masks still required (as they are in all medical offices). The politicians in the northeast just refuse to budge.
For a long time there was a school mask mandate. I fought this viciously. It was finally repealed in February 2021. On that day I stopped wearing the mask in my medical office. And I got into all kinds of arguments and fights over it. I absolutely refused. And I have not worn a mask since then. At this point almost nobody in my office wears them.
The school mask mandate was one of the most insidious and horrific NPI’s instituted. The harm wrought is incalculable. Thank you for standing up for children. Too few did.
i have over 30 employees and they would see me without a mask and ask me dr... when can we stop wearing the masks. I would say " right now! just take it off" thats all anyone had to do. just take it off. But we are a sad sick society of gullible scared pathetic obedient serfs. A family member works for a major hospital. She’s not a medical professional but does administrative work remotely and complied with the mandates.
Many people I know who work at the Valley hosp in Ridgewood NJ were furious that they were being forced to get that shot. Many of them are still heartbroken and feel completely betrayed. Hopefully the lawsuits will start soon
It was/is terrible coercion that should be criminal.
BUT....
This crime of needle rape was still a choice albeit a very tough one. It's akin to Harvey Weinstein's HR department. As far as I know nobody was stabbed with physical restraints. If someone CHOSE to give up their bodily autonomy and possible health or life for a "job".... well then... they chose poorly.
I'm not the least bit Christian but the parallels to Revelations during this Madness are pretty prescient.

The choice is only theoretical when you have no savings to speak of, and no prospect of other income and you are the sole breadwinner for your children. After all, "Do this or I'll shoot you in the head" is also theoretically a choice, but no one considers it one in practice.

My job is remote and demands proof of vaccination. My excuse was going to be "I lost my card" and just waste their time. Actually, it was easier than that. They had me fill out an online form with 3 fields. Date 1, date 2, upload file (PDF)
I merely put 2 random dates, did not upload any files, and clicked "submit"
Nothing happened! 6 months later, nobody said anything!
Every card I’ve seen looks fake.
Better would be "I can't find my card" because then you wouldn't actually be lying, just admitting you can't find a card that doesn't exist. I'm glad they never asked!
