It’s one thing to be “innocently” ignorant (as I was in many ways until 3 years ago) but educate yourself in what you don’t know; whole other thing to be “willfully” & sanctimoniously ignorant & look down your nose at truth
Yes I dislike being told I'm wrong/denier etc by those who can't be bothered to think for themselves and look up data and evidence. Sadly, it's a large proportion of the population.
Interesting comment, thanks. I think you might be right but to truly know the actual truth is probably impossible and we need to start with a bias but be prepared to change that bias, or we flounder about - very difficult, I know.
The idea that vaxes are causing excess deaths is interesting. There seems to be good if not obvious correlation but then my assumption has been "adjusted" by Carl Hennigan (a man I greatly respect) who says it's unlikely to be a single cause but multiple, interrelated causes. So you then meld that into your thinking or even reject one's first assumption/ bias.

LOL. You have a point there. I'd be happy if people would just discuss it. Most just don't want to talk about it. Their subconscious is screaming at them "YOU SCREWED UP BAD".
Always wanted to go to Boston, Mask to get a lobstah roll. But it’s a long way from Castro valley CA here. At least 2000 miles. I’ll just go to Oakland 15 miles away here get a vegan lobstah sandwich and hang out at lululemon and observe shoplifters and burning automobiles. Same thing.

I've lived in or near Boston for 31 years now. Im grateful to say that the people who both regularly read Boston.com and also would be interested in taking a poll about masks there are likely not representative of the general population. In my suburb I rarely see a mask anywhere anymore. But, yes - most definitely, 87% of the people taking that survey are indeed ignorant.
That's a relief! I kinda figured it was an unrepresentative sample. Those kinds of polls are rarely scientific. Maybe next time I visit Boston, I won't wear my Yankees cap after all :)
My FJB t-shirt seems to have an effect like garlic on vampires. Not as clear a marker as self branding masks but it does leave a wake of downcast eyes and resentful looks behind me.
When the governor ordered masks here in 2021, it was helpful because you could then tell who the Democrats were. Not many of them in rural Texas, but there are a few. The majority never wore masks here. Everyone is still alive. These people are all insane. But it’s not really totally their fault. The government has driven them to it. If they’d supplement vitamin D up there in the far north, they wouldn’t have so many immune problems.
I think you may be referencing a recent Swiss study that showed 1 in 35 has measurable heart damage? That is a ridiculously high number, entirely unacceptable for any drug used on mass population

I’m incredulous, that so many people still do not know what’s going on! The next thing we’ll hear is people not leaving their homes at all, because of the aliens!

If you didn’t know 70% of people living around you can’t or won’t think for themselves and would rather hand over their sovereignty to government-approved experts, now you do!

My wife had an appointment at the local hospital yesterday morning. There was not a mask to be seen in the whole place, staff or patients. But, I think people in Boston should wear them, since they want to so badly.
So that’s why we’ve got so many Boston ‘blue bellies’ moving in down here - again. Y’all know the difference between a yankee and a damn yankee btw? 😈 😇
Comfort food. This is basic to life. Thinking for oneself is scary, and that applies to every belief system. It's hard to act in a way that excludes one from the congregation.
The Asch Conformity Experiment, Milgram Authority Experiment and Stanford Prison Experiment were all done at once on society. Only 10-20% of people "pass" any one of those. To pass all 3 at once in a real life situation like all the refuseniks have done is amazing.
None of those 3 experiments relied on intelligence. Just the ability to question authority.

If you told people they had to wear a raincoat made from a net to protect them from the rain, they would clearly see that it does not work in stopping the rain getting through the fabric, unfortunately even when you explain that virus's pass through a mask as easily as water does through a net, because they cannot actually see the virus's people are forced to think a little bit deeper in order to conceptualise this fact and a lot of people are simply too lazy and weak minded to put in that mental effort and are more likely to follow the sheep, rather then to take the effort to stand with the truth because its a little difficult.
And humans faces are great petridishes when masked. Plus the humans touch their masked petridished faces hundreds of times more than their unmasked faces. Cooties on face to hands, to infinity and beyond. Masking increases disease and transmission. Follow the science.
Just proves that 87% of people are ignorant!

Sadly, yes!
Witch hunts next? For your immortal soul's salvation?
Lots of biopharms in Boston. Those people definitely believe in their science
No, they are believing "scientism", not true science.
Stupid actually
Which is why the actual facts and data about face masking needs to be shared far, wide, and often.

Exactly! Human contact is death!! I've been in my basement for the last 3.5 years, and everything is great!
Yessss, I kicked out my husband and kids and now I'm safe. I wear a mask too
Can I stay in yours? Mine is kind of small.
No that's good! Less room for germs.
Nah
You should! That's the only way you can stay safe
Thanks for the advice Caryn.
Interesting concept though....safety.

They’d probably have NO problems. But because they don’t take care of their body/immune system, they want to blame everyone else!
Their health is not MY responsibility. Or YOUR responsibility.
Do find it so amusing to be able to tell moronic demonicrats by wearing a mask today.
Yep, self branding sheeples.
My bet on 87% of the population being up to date with boosters as well! Totally insane.

They did not include sub-clinical cases which are likely way more. Think of standard distribution...
So far ... Worse to come sadly.
“YES, MASTER .”
Gee those are the best odds I’ve heard. If true I’m relieved. Hysteria knows no bounds, avoids all facts and plays on fear.
They are mostly brain washed Democratic Party morons living there. And no I think the GOP sucks as well, but for different reasons.
I’m incredulous, that so many people still do not know what’s going on! The next thing we’ll hear is people not leaving their homes at all, because of the aliens!
Jesus wept, this idiot walks the earth alone, unsupervised?
"When we all wear masks, we are all protected."
Too bad they don't wear that maskmover their eyes and ears to protect themselves from stupidity.
If you didn’t know 70% of people living around you can’t or won’t think for themselves and would rather hand over their sovereignty to government-approved experts, now you do!

I live in Boston, a bunch of Masskholes
Boston has a lot of gentrification / Old neighbourhoods gone / college age brainwashed / blue state ?
Very blue state, full of NPC'S , get me outa here!!!! : )
So that’s why we’ve got so many Boston ‘blue bellies’ moving in down here - again. Y’all know the difference between a yankee and a damn yankee btw? 😈 😇
Oh no ! Watch the show I guess :) ...or...
Move to Georgia?
Ah listen I shouldn't be flippant, maybe RFK is the guy.
RFK, DJT, Desantis, America first people!

That human addiction to holy rituals is hard to root out.
Very true. It is a full blown cult with their special rituals etc.

All that's really needed to understand it is those scenes in 'Life of Brian' when the crowd decide he's the Chosen One.
Think we'll ever get the resurrection of comedy? I live in hope...
This is a comedy, a tragic one.
As James Corbett says, we need lots more models of successful resisters and resistance movements.
We just need to cultivate common sense in the young and reinforce it daily.

It's definitely overrun with Karens and smug overeducated idiots. But it also may say something about the readership of boston.com.
Response bias. The only ones who responded were the doom-mongers
Yes likely some of this or a flock of bots or “editors license” ... the results are too one sided
