Makes total sense

What about gel and skin diseases? I’m convinced that’s a thing too. Maybe nothing super serious but unpleasant enough to be worth avoiding.

That’s next in my series

it works like antibiotics, strips the skin of good and bad bacteria dries the skin out opening it up for real bad germs to get in cos theres no good bacteria to compete against

I stopped using that crap early in 2020. I mean we forgot overnight that over sanitization is a BAD idea

It reminds me of the George Carlin standup when he talks about his immune system and how they never got sick because they played in the dirt and didn't wash their hands.

Yes that’s what I would expect

We are trying cross country skiing!

My philosophy exactly. Even in the winter sunlight will stimulate NO production in your skin.

Mass psychosis fully in place. Remember---"You will own nothing and you will be happy."

Maybe because our brains have rotted away from all the toxic chemicals we are exposed to.

Perpetuates the fear, like the masks. Also, companies have made a lot of money selling this crap. The gyms could use white vinegar + plain water to clean stuff.

Even if COVID were real, it doesn't live on surfaces.

I totally agree. One thing not mentioned is that these disinfectants also harm your good gut bacteria which is crucial for your health. I won't use hand sanitizer either.

One thing I cannot understand is how people even walk down a laundry detergent aisle without an oxygen mask. I literally cannot breathe when I come close to it.

That’s your body telling you it’s toxic. Same with me.

What I've long wondered ... is if you enter a public toilet and someone has dropped a nasty one... and you breath in the smell -- surely there must also be pathogens in what you breath... so why do people not get sick :)

I have chased away the cleaning person who tries to spray around my treadmill. I instinctively knew breathing that is noxious!

COPD has been linked to this with nurses who constantly use it

This is reminiscent of the DDT spraying back in the early 1900s. People were told that flies spread polio, and DDT was safe. There was a lot of fear-mongering about polio, and a huge push to roll out the vaksine under emergency use authorisation... sound familiar, anyone?

I am reading Suzanne Humphries excellent book "Dissolving Illusions" - it is a very fact based history of public health measures in the past 2 centuries or so, including all the stories we have been told about polio and smallpox. Reading it, I feel like I have entered a time-warp... they even have their Tony Fauci equivalent, and the demonisation of anyone, like Sister Kenny & Dr Klenner, who advocated effective treatment.

It makes you wonder whether humans really have progressed, and in what ways...

I Denmark it last year was discoverede that meat from crows not is healthy if the cows has grazed on areas where firefighters have been training with foam against fire. And this year it now is stated at 53 places in Denmark.

Early on, my office had the facilities people going through the halls spraying disinfectant in the air. They might still do that (I work from home now).

At my office they've been bleaching the lunch room & bathrooms during the workday. I was wondering how much more harmful the inhalation of these chemicals is compared to cov2

Expand full comment

That's why I won't swim in public pools anymore.

Expand full comment

Don’t inhale bleach fumes. Toxic stuff. They can safely accomplish disinfecting surfaces using white vinegar + plain water.

And I saw people laugh about the foot baths they use (still probably) in Mexico last year. Every country has their covid cosplay rituals.

While not applicable to most we (both weight training fanatics) built an awesome home gym 20 years back. Mostly so we would see each other when junior was born.

Given gyms have been closed on and off (we aren’t allowed in one anyway) it’s probably paid itself off… maybe if you figure out time to get to the gym, changing and doing it all over again.

You don’t need much, not that we didn’t start out that way, but have sold off pieces over the years.

In Thailand Tv anoncements they show insect spay used indoors. I tell my wife that in Denmark such films must not be shown in Tv. Because most person don't think by themself, that it is poison.

Good points. But when you talk of 'giving do-gooders a pass' I baulked. I think if Covid has taught me anything, it's taught that harmless but brainless 'do-gooders' (as i used to think of them) are now dangerous fools and it's time to question. Besides, for every one who is an actual 'do-gooder' (i.e. meaning good, and nothing else), there are a million pretend 'do-gooders' who are pure and simple VIRTUE SIGNALLING, and nothing else. It's like charity donations. Most are people who want the kudos and credit for doing the charitable gesture, the price tag for their purchase is handing money to someone less well-off than themselves, not to be confused with wanting to help anyone (but themselves). We need to confront stupidity now, whether it 'seems' like a do-gooder or not. (Every mask wearer contributes to the collective insanity the world is dying of right now. RESIST, it's our only hope for survival.)

yes, sorry I did read that. I was more commenting to convince others (not you) that we must never make that mistake again, and we all did, me included!
