The same statistical legerdemain is going on in the US. All government statistics are manipulated for political ends. None can be trusted. Our government inflation report for June just came out. It says inflation was 9.1% last month. No one believes that number. It is meaningless, and a lie.

You got that right. Everything the USG puts out on COVID or the economy is horse crap.

Very interesting. If we go to the Uk coronavirus date site (run by the government) it says that just over 45 million people received one dose, 42 million the second and just over 33 million the 3rd.

Can’t see anyway that adds up to only 8 percent unvaccinated. Ps my local authority is much lower!

I earned a masters degree in multivariate statistical analysis, something that has helped me quite a lot throughout my life with understanding stats and studies. If I learned anything, I learned that trying to help people who have not studied statistics or statistical analysis understand what they hear and read is almost a bridge too far. It's not easy. Not that it can't be done, but you have to be patient, and people have to want to learn this stuff.

Sure, just give us the final number. hehe. I'll take 42 at this stage.

"have set themselves the challenge to vaccinate 500,000 more people, as well as increase the (first) booster rate from 73% to 80% within four months"

Wow! I won't even sarcastically wish them good luck, but if after the last two years of extreme propaganda they think the unvaccinated are suddenly going to have a change of heart they must be mistaken!? Highly disillusion, if anything most people are more wary as we've seen from the paucity of uptake in under 5's in the US, less than 2% even in the most tribal of counties.

To play devil's advocate to myself, I guess some hold-outs were due to not knowing if the jab would be super-lethal, and the rates are low enough that a lot of people can look at the majority of the jabbed and think "well, they're still standing, maybe I'll get it and go to DisneyWorld after all".

We haven't seen what tactics they have up their sleeves this autumn, but I hope they're not more draconian than the last couple of years... if in England my family can't even go to the shops apart from essential goods whilst the jabbed can, that's the next step up, and something that did occur in Lithuania, Latvia (and France for a few weeks?!) Austria went for mandatory by law, but that fell apart before the blood hit the streets.
