Is this the same Noam Chomsky that said the unvaccinated should remove themselves from society? If it's the same man, it sounds like the sentiments in this book might be at odds with his own behavior and comments when they were put to the test during the pandemic. There were a lot of hippocrites and sellouts during covid even if their words sounded good in different times.

I know. Shame how many 'wise' people didn't pass the Covid test.

Chomsky has often been inconsistent.

Still a good book, from what I've heard. A hypocrite can be correct even if his deeds don't match his words. Or if he falls for the very propaganda he warned about.

wish i could continue to be the book poor as much as i was able to in my younger past and yet thankful to have padded walls of them and this original is among them.

but FYI, if you want to actually own books, consider buying a physical copy that can actually burn since the kindle version may be deleted from your purchased library with their new TandC that may cull at their whim and they may nonetheless very well call out any downloading heretic to be kindle for their fire🙄

Hear hear! I have started restocking my physical library for this particular reason. I look in charity shops, village and church sales and more to find older books full of information (often medical books as I fear they might be needed in a practical sense).

I have learned a lot from numerous old books published in the nineteenth century that DO NOT EXIST online. Ebay is a treasure trove of such books.

Great call I haven’t looked at eBay, only for specific books I wanted to buy. More browsing coming up…
