Honestly Djokovic should have just boycotted Australia from the very beginning when they began that terrible treatment of him.
Should have made it a point of duty to win ever other title and leave the Aussie one as scraps for his challengers. Essentially give Australia the sporting boycott treatment that was done to South Africa in the 70s through to the 90s.

Australia went from the top of my must visit list to the top of the never visit list. The way covid has been handled is a lasting stain on the Australian nation and people. Of course that’s also true for most of the rest of the world.

In addition, I think it makes Djokovic's fellow tennis players look exceedingly weak for not supporting him and what he is standing for. Hope something terrible happens to their balls, so to speak.

“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.”

I can see it now on my TV, "Welcome to the Australian Closed Tennis Tournament, brought to you by Pfizer. As a reminder of the new Pandemic scoring rules, there is no more 'love' in tennis, all reference to 'zero' shall shall be labeled as 'nil'. For easy reference, just think of the opening score of a game of tennis being the same as your personal rights here in Melbourne, nil."

Ok, I now withdraw my previous comment about australia having a due judicial process which is honoured. I mean, we do have a judicial process. And it was followed. But now our government has gone rogue and overridden this. I don’t know that people understand how serious this is. Having separation of powers is one of the key tenets underpinning democratic government, and now we have clearly crossed a line.

Brings to mind the treatment of the Springboks by other countries during the apartheid era in South Africa. Time for these professional athletes from all sports to take a stand and refuse to participate in any events that require vaccine mandates - or would that be too great of a sacrifice for them to make? To lose all those millions in appearance money.

This is so stupid! And scary, because they are doing this to him without any scientific basis, just because they can.
The overreaction by many elected officials is mind boggling!

In an ideal world, every other player in the event would have boycotted in a show of mass solidarity.
What a difference two years makes. It seems, like Healthcare workers and many others, Djokovic went from hero to zero in Australia.

He's sure excites me! 😄👏
Stupidity and madness everywhere you look. It's like a bad movie that won't end.
