I think Glenn Greenwald added an important point in his discussion of Julian Assange:

This is from Glenn Greenwald’s show yesterday: “Just on a personal level, I want Julian Assange out of prison. On a personal level, it's just a sickening atrocity and disgrace. But politically, to sit here and watch American journalists, American government officials, American political media elites spend a week weeping and crying and expressing all kinds of outrage over how Russia treats its dissidents, while our own government, the people that these journalists are supposed to check and report on, are slowly murdering Julian Assange is one of the most sickening things I've ever seen. “

Funny to read the US accusations that wiki leaks “put American lives at risk” and yet not a word of concern about all the Americans injured or dead due to a recent mass vaxx program. Does anyone else see the hypocrisy? Anyone in the USA government calling for an investigation, or incarceration of the perps of the vaxx debacle.

Great stuff here from The Naked Emperor's Newsletter and a timely reminder... Free Assange! I've written about this today on my own stack, too. The more the public hears about this rank injustice, the more they will understand the real enemy of freedom.

Thank you for posting.

I'm too upset to say anything useful.

One of the best background pieces for America's plot to silence and smear Julian Assange comes from UN Rapporteur for Torture Nilz Meltzer who began with a perception he was dealing with an arrogant hacker but concluded "A murderous system is being created before our eyes"

"A made-up rape allegation and fabricated evidence in Sweden, pressure from the UK not to drop the case, a biased judge, detention in a maximum security prison, psychological torture – and soon extradition to the U.S., where he could face up to 175 years in prison for exposing war crimes. For the first time, the UN Special Rapporteur on Torture, Nils Melzer, speaks in detail about the explosive findings of his investigation into the case of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange."

Glenn Greenwald, Tucker Carlson & Jimmy Dore are single-handedly responsible for educating American’s who didn’t understand the Assange case on what was really happening.

This is our reminder that spymasters aren't domesticable. The wild imaginations and deranged risk-taking temperaments useful in winning actual on-the-ground wars where losing is certain death for thousands or millions are dangerous to one's own side in every other circumstances.

You can't turn these guys off. They experience a permanent high from the joy of devising worse and worser schemes. These agencies are the natural home of sociopaths and psychopaths and, of course, civil servant enablers who work quietly and diligently for every authorized master.

I used to love John Le Carre. I read every book he wrote as soon as it was published and that encompasses my adolescence through the rapidly-tarnishing golden years, and authors like him made these people heroic and thrilling in their portrayed devotion to the common good of ordinary little people oblivious of the terrible battles being fought to protect them.

And that's how we got seduced into not shuddering at the mere sound of the tidy acronyms hiding the monstrousness of "intelligence agencies."

I was fortunate at a used-book sale a couple of years ago to replenish my lost copies of the best of Eric Ambler. Time to reread "The Care of Time."

“the prosecution arguing that the CIA plans to kill Assange should not be admissible in court.” This here tells you all you need to know.

This deep state corruption is more prevalent than most people guess and I will be writing about clandestine collusion between the courts and local councils shortly…

Re-establish the moral high ground... That assumes the moral high ground existed.

Did the West really stand on higher ground or were they just better at hiding the reality?

Covid has show us just the extent to which we hold the "high ground" in the public sphere while digging in private. When last did the West truly hold the high ground or has it always been an illusion.

You mean the BBC have covered Assange at all . . . I'm shocked they found time in between their wall-to-wall Navalny coverage.

Putin bad, Sunak good.

So sad that he is being framed as a criminal, when he was exposing the criminals!

I hope so.

Thank you for this piece. They do not want people thinking too deep about vault 7. The troubling part is, it is not that intelligence Infiltrated all of those platforms and operating systems, it is the fact that they were built for the intelligence apparatus through the public-private partnership scheme. The internet and all things connected has always been an op.
