Almost eight years ago, WIRED was scaring their readers that climate change is causing California to be too dry. California’s drought it probably forever, they shrieked.
Fast forward to last year and WIRED was scaring their readers again. This time California was getting wetter…due to climate change. The state’s flood control system just can’t cope, they cried.
You can’t have it both ways. Too dry…too wet…conditions have stayed the same…it all gets blamed on climate change. But only the climate change where you have to pay more taxes. Only the climate change that is your fault for being a human. Never the climate change which is just weather. Never the climate change which is due to the sun…which we have absolutely zero way of controlling.
But keep impoverishing yourselves and paying more and more taxes because the weather is too wet…I mean dry…I mean, it doesn’t matter, just keep making us richer.
I find all media one big torture chamber it is too much for me. They are sycophantic to whoever they consider "elites" or "celebrities" but disparage or mock ordinary people at every opportunity. They encourage hate and division and never miss a chance to tell us who to hate or approve of and they lie and deceive for their owners. They showed their true during covid and long before that fiasco but unfortunately I was not paying attention. I find mainstream media repellant.
In my neck of the California desert there is a reservoir: Lake Hodges. It has a dam. The state ordered the San Diego public utilities people to only allow Lake Hodges to be 30% full. So they have discharged 600 million gallons of rainwater from it this year. The reason: the dam is old and it would be dangerous to let it be above 30% full. Here is the kicker: A large pipe and pumping system was installed between Lake Hodges and the Olivenhain Reservoir (OR) so water can be actively pumped from Lake Hodges up to OR. But the state is keeping the water level below that needed to pump water from one reservoir to another. Infrastructure is a pretty basic responsibility of government. Our one party representatives have failed to maintain roads despite gas and car registration taxes, failed to maximize our rainwater capture and failed to thin forests, that are not federally managed, to prevent wildfires. And the climate crisis is blamed, not their ineptness.
