Today's Must-Reads - 19 March 2023
A selection of the latest news, studies, reports and articles
I spend a lot of time each day gathering together new information and interesting articles. I then pick one or two of the most interesting topics and write about them. However, that leaves a lot of missed out information that I’m not sharing.
Below is a summary of all the latest articles and information that I’ve found. Today, this is a slimmed down version for all subscribers but will be for paid subscribers only a lot of the time in the future.
Please consider taking out a paid subscription because it enables me to spend longer reporting on the news that isn’t, but should be reported.
Climate Change
In a move that will surprise no one who reads this newsletter, the NY Times says humanity is facing a great injustice and the World Bank must respond. Trump appointee, David Malpass, is leaving the bank in June, probably to be replaced by Ajay Banga, former CEO of Mastercard. Mr Banga sees the bank’s goals of addressing poverty, shared growth and climate as “intertwined”.
Covid
The WHO have made a statement about the latest ‘data’ showing SARS-CoV-2 sequences connected with raccoon dogs in the Wuhan wet market. This ‘data’ was uploaded for a short period of time before quickly disappearing again. Fortunately, only scientists who are pushing the zoonotic jump theory managed to see the data before it disappeared. According to them, this is very strong evidence that Covid jumped from bats to raccoon dogs to humans. No it does, honestly. No you don’t need to see the data, just trust us. You don’t trust us? But…science….we win.
These unpublished raccoon dog data have been jumped on by news outlets such as the Atlantic. Matt Ridley has a look at whether Covid really originated in Wuhan’s seafood market.
Old news but being reported on again, British experiments risked making the Covid pandemic ‘more lethal’. Scientists in London carried out tests using delta and omicron that ‘could have combined the two variants and leaked from the laboratory’. Matt Hancock was waiting outside to shout “release the new variant” - he wasn’t but he would have liked to have been.
Covid Mandates & Lockdowns
The evidence is in. Lockdowns kill people - and the more you lock down, the more you kill. Daniel Hannan says we have been governed by petty, frightened men who valued appearance over substance.
What exactly is the WHO proposing with their new legal instruments? David Bell takes a look at the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations and a new pandemic treaty.
Contracts have revealed that the CDC purchased private location data on over 55 million Americans to monitor lockdown compliance.
The Land of the Free is still playing anti-science with their vaccination requirements. Novak Djokovic applied for another vaccine exemption, this time for the Miami Open, but once again has been denied entry.
British Columbia has removed its vaccination policy requiring public servants to be vaccinated.
Economy/Energy/Finance
Will Credit Suisse still be here on Monday morning? Over the weekend, negotiations are being had and deals are being made. At least four banks have curbed trades with Credit Suisse. UBS said no to a merger but are considering acquiring parts of the group. If they do buy the bank, it will be the most significant merger since the GFC. BlackRock seem to be taking charge of the takeover bids, of course.
The WSJ says that 186 banks may be prone to similar risks as Silicon Valley Bank. 2023 is already the worst year of bank runs in US history, in terms of deposits held by failing banks.
Zero Hedge says that if the Fed doesn’t contain the regional bank collapse, there will be another great depression. Small/medium banks account for 50% of US commercial and industrial lending, 60% of residential real estate lending, 80% of commercial real estate lending and 45% of consumer lending.
Mish Talk looks at a high profile hedge fund that has blown up as bond markets losses hit 25 percent. Everyone was believing the “higher for longer” meme, until the trade blew up.
It’s almost as if they want small banks to disappear, to be bought up for pennies by the big banks. The Washington Post says even if further bank runs can be avoided, the size of bank’ unrealised losses could cause significant problems. If banks were suddenly forced to liquidate their bond and loan portfolios, the losses would erase between 77 percent and 91 percent of their combined capital cushion.
The housing bubble in Canada is popping. The Canadian Home Price Benchmark Index for single family houses dropped 18.5% year on year.
Politics
Will Trump get arrested and taken away in cuffs on Tuesday? Donald certainly seems to think so although his advisers say they have no specific knowledge of the timing of an indictment in the Manhattan case. If he does get taken away in handcuffs, his chances of becoming President again will become very strong.
Unrest around Paris have led police to ban protests at Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysees.
Remember, we are the good guys. The US threatened to arrest AND sanction International Criminal Court (ICC) judges if they charged any American who served in Afghanistan with war crimes. At the same time they have issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin.
President Biden has denied that the Biden family received $1 million in payments from one of Hunter’s business associates. “Not true” said the President even thought bank records and Hunter himself say otherwise.
After a week of missile testing, North Korea have claimed that almost 800,000 citizens have signed up to fight against the US. According to a North Korean paper this shows “the unshakeable will of the younger generation to mercilessly wipe out the war maniacs making last-ditch efforts to eliminate our precious socialist country”.
UAPs
Speaker McCarthy is to allow UAP hearings. According to the Pentagon there is the possibility that alien motherships could be sending smaller vehicles to Earth.
Professor Avi Loeb from the Galileo Project and Dr Sean Kirkpatrick, Director of AARO at the Pentagon published a paper looking at the physical constraints of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. This is the paper that suggests that the mothership/probe scenario is more energetically viable.
Ukraine
Is Putin helping Russia win the war? Are Zelensky’s tactics helping Ukraine lose the war? Nope, it’s none of the above. Tucker Carlson is in fact turning the Ukraine war for Vladimir Putin. According to the Telegraph, Tucker’s Fox News show flies straight into the Kremlin’s propaganda videos.
Vaccines
More vaccine injury stories are hitting the MSM. The Express reports on a few with Dr Tom Merritt, part of the Oxford University team who developed the AstraZeneca vaccine, admitting that some who had the jab were “collateral damage to the bigger scheme…Some tragically died, a number had their lives changed forever. They believed in vaccines, now they don’t”.
Andrew Bridgen MP made a speech about vaccine injuries in Parliament. Whilst many might not agree with all or parts of his speech, he is an elected MP and should be heard. However, other MPs were ushered out so that he was left talking to an empty chamber. YouTube also removed his speech but after online outrage, they returned it for you to watch now.
Is there something in the water that has turned the whole western world completely crazy? Or have we just reached the end and are all fiddling whilst Rome burns? Totally mad.
Our President might be a corrupt buffoon, but damn well no unvaxxed foreigners will tarnish our land and endanger us all. Unless of course you’re a POC and illegally come through the wide open southern border - come one and come all and vote Democrat!!
