Today's Must-Reads - 09 August 2022
A selection of the latest news, studies, reports and articles
I spend a lot of time each day gathering together new information and interesting articles. I then pick one or two of the most interesting topics and write about them. However, that leaves a lot of missed out information that I’m not sharing.
Below is a summary of all the latest articles and information that I’ve found today. Today, this is for all subscribers but will be for paid subscribers only a lot of the time in the future.
Please consider taking out a paid subscription because it enables me to spend longer reporting on the news that isn’t, but should be reported.
Subscriptions are best but if you would prefer to/ also like to buy me a coffee then click on the button below.
Climate Change
Epoch Times - The Big Green Lie Almost Everyone Claims to Believe. The Big Green Lie—that carbon dioxide is a pollutant—is so pervasive that even those considered skeptics—including right-wing NGOs and pundits—generally adhere to the orthodoxy, differing not in their stated belief that CO2 is a pollutant but only in how calamitous a pollutant it is.
NewsMax - Climate Hazards Linked to 58% of Infectious Diseases: Report. Climate hazards, such as flooding, heat waves and drought, have worsened more than half of the hundreds of known infectious diseases in people, including malaria, hantavirus, cholera and even anthrax.
Watts Up With That? - Germany clearing 1,000-year-old forest to make way for massive wind park. Germany’s government has not only taken a wrecking ball to the nation in terms of COVID, but also to its biodiversity in its self-deluded bid to protect the climate.
Spectator - How did climate doomsters get the Great Barrier Reef so wrong? A few decades of data can only tell us so much.
Telegraph - The miserable truth is that our leaders don’t want us to have cheap energy. Politicians, in hoc to eco-extremists, have come to believe that consuming fuel is intrinsically sinful.
This is Money - Volvo says emissions from making EVs can be 70% higher than petrol models - and claims it can take up to 9 YEARS of driving before they become greener.

Politics
Wired - A Glimpse of a Future Without White People. Mohsin Hamid’s The Last White Man is a book about race metamorphosis—and the seduction of power.
NY Times - A U.S. diplomat warns African countries against buying anything from Russia except grain and fertilizer.
Unherd - America has lost its purpose. Killing terrorists is no substitute for strategy. With Ayman al-Zawahiri dead, now is time for Washington to abandon the failed counterterrorism policies of the last two decades. Rather than vindicating that approach, as supporters of the Biden administration claim, the al-Qaeda leader’s assassination shows how little it has accomplished. This may well be America’s last chance to fundamentally reorient its foreign policy before the country suffers far more devastating losses than those it has inflicted on itself during the War on Terror.
Science
Independent - Nasa identifies strange ‘alien seaweed’ debris found on Mars by Perseverance rover. Although it looks like alien seaweed, Nasa has determined the strange object is not of extraterrestrial origin.
Retraction Watch - Leading primate researcher admits to faking data in NIH grant applications, paper. He is also a coauthor of the primate center’s much-touted Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine study.
Science - Knowledge overconfidence is associated with anti-consensus views on controversial scientific issues.
Vaccines
Insider - My toddler is vaccinated against COVID. I can give her what she didn't know she was missing: her childhood.
The unmasked person will be breathing out the same particles but they will lose infectiousness rapidly.

The mom writing about feeling relief at getting her toddler vaccinated so she could have a normal childhood tells it all. She's a lawyer but never questioned the truth of what she's been told. Bring back critical thinking skills!
I don't know which is more depressing, the child labouring in the Congo or the toddler whose mother was relieved to have imposed the vaccine on them.
I thank you but shuffle away weeping.
