A selection of the latest news, studies, reports and articles

I spend a lot of time each day gathering together new information and interesting articles. I then pick one or two of the most interesting topics and write about them. However, that leaves a lot of missed out information that I’m not sharing.

Below is a summary of all the latest articles and information that I’ve found today. Today, this is for all subscribers but will be for paid subscribers only a lot of the time in the future.

Climate Change

• Guardian - King Charles has ‘other priorities’ than climate now, says environment minister. Mark Spencer says Prince William should attend Cop27 after Truss reportedly advised monarch not to attend.

• Medical Express - Study reveals how COVID damages the heart.

• The Intercept - NEW DETAILS EMERGE ABOUT CORONAVIRUS RESEARCH AT CHINESE LAB. More than 900 pages of materials related to U.S.-funded coronavirus research in China were released following a FOIA lawsuit by The Intercept.

• Heart - What COVID-19 is doing to the heart, even after recovery.

• New Scientist - Covid-19: What are the risks of catching the virus multiple times?

  A study suggests people who catch covid-19 at least twice have double the risk of dying from any cause and are three times as likely to be hospitalised in the next six months, compared with people who test positive just once.

• NY Times - F.D.A. Approves A.L.S. Treatment Despite Questions About Effectiveness. The drug is safe, and one trial found it may extend survival and slow paralysis in functions like muscle control and speaking. A larger trial will be completed in 2024.

• Guardian - Thousands of children at risk as vaccination rates fall in England

  Health officials urge parents to ensure children have routine jabs amid fears of measles outbreak.

• El Confidencial - NATO warns that Russia has moved the submarine that carries 'the weapon of the apocalypse'. The Alliance fears that Russia now wants to test the Poseidon super torpedo, a projectile capable of traveling up to 10,000 kilometers underwater.
