Strange how they weren't afraid enough of her contagion to get in real close heavy-breathing physical contact, huh?

This is terrible. I'm still really struggling to get my head around the behaviour of people during the pandemic. How anyone in good conscience is able to defend this, and how the security guard could lie for the perp is beyond me.

I have a disabled son and so obviously it's a big concern about how people will treat him when we are gone and not here to protect him - it's a real worry. My husband has always assured me that 'people are generally good' but what I've seen over the last couple of years doesn't not support his supposition. I am shocked every day at the way human beings behave and I am not some coddled princess. I grew up on the worst council estate in my city in the 70s and 80s and have seen some awful things but this... It hurts my heart. I think the first moment I got an inkling of how quickly people descend into this abhorrent behaviour was when I met a friend in Starbucks after the first uk lockdown was eased. There were those stupid social distancing squares on the floor and I must have strayed because a teenage boy (not much older than my eldest son) barked orders for me to get back in line. I was shocked and furious and walked out -I couldn't get over his attitude. I guess I had a naivety that we all bear in mind what the nazis did. I thought that people would see through propaganda, but I was so wrong! I was also wrong to think that 'my people' would be more Schindler than Hitler. Boy, was I wrong.
