September Subscription Drive & Quantum Physics Shows Why You Should Subscribe
A shamefully shameless reminder
Should you spend those 19 cents (16 pence) per day? It’s a tough decision. You could save up and buy one coffee at the end of the month or subscribe to this newsletter and join a likeminded community of critical, independent thinkers.
But don’t take my word for it, read what some of my new subscribers this month have said:

A fundamental concept in quantum physics is a mysterious occurrence called ‘entanglement’. When two particles are entangled, what happens to one, affects the other, no matter how far apart they are in distance and in time.
This concept was described using a variation of Schrodinger’s cat - Schrodinger’s kittens (I’m just writing this from memory so feel free to chip in if I have missed something out). The original Schodinger’s cat thought experiment consisted of a cat in a sealed box, with a glass bottle of poison, a radioactive source and a radiation monitor connected to a hammer. If the radiation monitor detects radioactivity from the radioactive source then the hammer is released, the glass bottle of poison is smashed and the cat dies. However, until an observer looks in the box, the radioactive atoms remain in two states - ‘going to decay’ and ‘not going to decay’. The cat is therefore both dead and alive until an observation is made.
Schrodinger’s kittens takes this thought experiment one step further and involves entangled particles. This time two kittens are placed in two boxes with the same setup as above. This time two entangled particles are divided and one placed in each box. The boxes are then put in rockets and sent to the opposite sides of the universe. The kittens are both dead and alive until an observer opens the box and sees whether the entangled particle is in the state ‘going to decay’ or ‘not going to decay’. At the instant that observation is made the opposite thing will happen to the entangled particle on the other side of the universe. So, if the observer opens the box and finds that the kitten is alive, then at that exact same time the other kitten will be dead, no matter how far away the other kitten is or how much time has elapsed.
Anyway, with those massively simplified examples out of the way, “over the last few years, a flurry of theoretical and experimental research has uncovered a strange new face of the phenomenon — one that shows itself not in pairs, but in constellations of particles. Entanglement naturally spreads through a group of particles, establishing an intricate web of contingencies”.
So whilst the powers that be, for the most part, don’t sit around a big table deciding the fate of the world, their ideas will follow the laws of quantum physics and start weaving intricate webs that influence others and affect humanity. As I have said before, think of it like a murmaration of starlings, where mesmerising shapes are created without any one bird organising the show.
But how do you destroy ideas (such as lockdowns or net zero) that have turned into a murmaration, spreading around the world with greater and greater force. Quantum physics has the answer.
if you measure the particles frequently enough, destroying entanglement in the process, you can stop the web from forming. In 2018, three groups of theorists showed that these two states — web or no web — are reminiscent of familiar states of matter such as liquid and solid. But instead of marking a transition between different structures of matter, the shift between web and no web indicates a change in the structure of information.
In our case, the web is an idea that has swept around the world and by observing that idea, you can stop the web from forming and that idea from continuing. And the best way to observe those ideas is to read this newsletter.
A great example is the recent Canadian Parliament giving standing ovations to a former Nazi incident. If nobody had paid attention, things like that would have happened again and again until it was normalised. ‘Russians are bad therefore Nazis must be good because they fought the Russians’. But I and others quickly reported on the issue and because it was being observed, very quickly the web stopped forming and was destroyed, taking out the Speaker of the House with it.
If you enjoyed reading about the connection between quantum physics and reading this newsletter then you should definitely subscribe.
If you thought the link to quantum physics was too spurious then you should definitely subscribe.
And if it all went over your head then I suggest subscribing.
Thanks to everyone who has subscribed so far!
