On 11 February 2022, I asked are we entering the eye of the storm, the area of calm surrounded by ferocious winds? The Covid narrative suddenly disappeared in multiple countries and 13 days later, Russia invaded Ukraine.

Since then, whilst there have been various ups and downs, in the West things have not noticeably worsened in the same way as they had done in previous years.

However, the Ukraine narrative is shifting and it has lost people’s attention. Suddenly, China is no longer able to hold back the Covid cases and protests are erupting around the country. To the Western media, that were largely silent about Western protests, this is unacceptable. Whilst Western lockdown and vaccine pass protests were led by tin-foil hat wearing, dangerous Covidiots, the same media outlets describe the Chinese protests as being led by brave freedom fighting heroes.

Suddenly zero Covid has fallen from grace and it is a ridiculous proposition. The gaslighting media pretend that this has always been their position and only conspiracy theorists would think otherwise. They hope that we will forget their articles encouraging fellow citizens to want lockdowns, call for Covid passes and discriminate against the unvaccinated. But we won’t.

Also bear in mind that what you see coming out of China is what China wants you to see. Globally, the narrative is changing again and for some reason China wants you to think that Covid is out of control, as is their population who have had enough (I’m sure they have but now that information is being allowed to get out).

Combined with that we have a perilous financial, energy and food situation which is only going to get worse in 2023.

So, are we exiting the eye of the storm? Maybe not before Christmas but in the New Year. Whilst we have been enjoying a taster of normality again, have the winds been intensifying out of sight?
