If This Doesn't Convince You To Get Your Covid-19 Vaccine, I Don't Know What Will

Ralph Baric is a professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of North Carolina. He is one of the world leaders in the study of coronaviruses and coronavirus research. After three decades of Gain of Function research involving coronaviruses, Baric warns of the emergence of new coronaviruses…due to zoonosis of course.

In 2015 he jointly published an article with Shi Zhengli of the Wuhan Institute of Virology. This looked at SARS-like bat coronaviruses which showed the potential for human emergence. During this research, Baric created chimeric spike proteins which he then added onto the backbone of another coronavirus. Now where have I heard of a virus like that before? Nope…forgotten…it will come back to me at some point.

At the time Nature magazine wrote an article about Baric’s work called “Engineered bat virus stirs debate over risky research”. They said his lab-made coronavirus related to SARS could infect human cells and had pandemic potential.

During the pandemic, Zhengli was worried that her lab was getting all the attention whilst the work actually occurred in Baric’s lab.

In 2017, he was awarded a grant for more than $6 million from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAD) to develop a drug against coronaviruses. He also worked on experimental antiviral treatments which inhibit MERS and multiple coronaviruses, suggesting it would work on Covid.

If only that inhibitor had a better sales team, we wouldn’t have needed lockdowns or new vaccines after all!

So naturally, a man who has had first-hand experience of Gain of Function, chimeric viruses, incredibly similar to Covid, would be the first in line for vaccination.

Why wouldn’t a man, who has an inhibitor which most likely works on Covid, not want this new wonder vaccine. I mean, inhibitors are great and all, they stop viral reproduction and you getting ill, but who doesn’t want a vaccine that makes your body grow deadly spike proteins? I sound ridiculous even suggesting such a thing.

He first introduces what he is doing in the clinic before it looks like he looks up to read “vaccines have saved literally hundreds of millions of lives across the globe”.

As a scientist who works on coronaviruses, he says it’s essential that he steps up to volunteer [to get vaccinated]. He says, “this is the best approach we can pursue to save lives across the world”.

So watch the video and see if he convinces you to get vaccinated…that’s if you can see a needle that is. Maybe, the video producers were being considerate to those with needle phobias. Or maybe one of the vaccines is applied with vigorous arm rubbing with a cotton wool pad. Who knows but I’m sure there’s a good reason that we don’t actually see him getting injected.

And fortunately, he didn’t suffer any side effects, not even a sore arm.
