Autumn will see a resurgence of Covid mandates

It’s currently the summer (in the northern hemisphere), rules have been relaxed (for many of us) and Covid is a distant memory (or so we hoped). However, it seems this summer lull was just us enjoying the eye of the storm, unaware of the hurricane swirling around us. Come Autumn, we will be returning to more turbulent headwinds. All around the world there are signs that all things Covid will make a comeback within a few months.

In Australia, Victorian premier, Dan Andrews is weighing up whether to mandate a fourth shot of the Covid vaccine or wait until a better jab arrives.

The EU have approved a one-year extention to their EU COVID certificate which was meant to expire in a few days. This was despite a huge backlash during its consultation phase with most of the public opposing the renewal. From 1st July, all EU member states have to use these digital COVID passes again.

France’s health minister has said that people should wear masks in crowded areas, particularly if they are on public transport, to help tackle a new COVID-19 wave. The French vaccination chief, Alain Fischer, said he was in favour of bringing back mandatory face masks on public transport.

German health minister, Karl Lauterbach, has tweeted that, “from September, the adapted vaccines and their vaccination campaign will become VERY important. All of this is currently being intensively prepared.” Furthermore, according to reports, he has said the country is planning to make the requirement to wear a face mask mandatory for indoor areas for six months of the year.

Mr Lauterbach believes that each additional round of COVID increases the Long Covid risk. Those infected in summer can be reinfected in Autumn. A summer infection only caused damage and did not protect.

Is he correct with his Long Covid analysis or is this more fear porn to reinstate mandates? If he is correct, are we witnessing the effects of the HIV-1 inserts in SARS-CoV-2 or its ability to attack T-cells? Or, as many suspect, is this the prophesised Original Antigentic Sin (OAS) rearing its ugly head and affecting the vaccinated more than the unvaccinated? Even worse, a combination of the two? For now we just don’t know because we don’t have enough data but it will become apparent soon enough.

Isreal is following a similar path with new campaigns telling people that Covid-19 infects again and again.

The UK Health Security Agency are once again recommending wearing a face covering or a face mask, particularly in crowded and enclosed spaces.

Furthermore, they have just issued a tender for £2 billion woth of testing kits.

In the US, pressure to vaccinate children is ramping up with popular TV shows such as Sesame Street encouraging children to get jabbed to keep the “whole neighborhood safe and healthy”.

If mandates are brought back in, will people comply? Many snapped out of their mass psychosis when Russia invaded Ukraine in February but I think a fresh new round of propoganda could easily snap them back again. When people are anxious and in a state of worry, panic and confusion, they can be easily manipulated. Ukraine, Covid, financial worries etc etc are pushing people off balance, meaning a few scare tactics and they will be back on the Covid agenda.

Already it is claimed that BA5, which is becoming dominant around the world, is more severe and evades immunity due to its Delta spike mutation. More and more people are speculating that the limited data that’s available is showing this it’s affecting the vaccinated more than the unvaccinated. Their immune systems primed for the Wuhan strain of the virus, unable to mount a defence to the current strains (OAS).

On top of that, the virus may be mutating specifically to target these vaccinated but inadequate immune systems, trained only to recognise the Wuhan spike protein, rather than the many different parts of the virus. Have the vaccines enouraged nature to find a way around these limited defences? Geert Vanden Bossche seems to think so, with his ominous 2 month prediction. However, whilst he has been accurate about many things, his timescales are often massively off.

Fortunately, the summer lull in the eye of the storm has allowed us to become more organised.
