Scotland has some good data to look at and a good dashboard which visualises it all. Unfortunately, the latest updates are 6 months ago but some trends are already becoming apparent.
Whether caused by lockdowns, Covid or vaccines, something has caused some cancers to rise since between February and April 2021 and the trend lines don’t look good. The graphs show that lockdowns most certainly didn’t help, with fewer people attending hospital and seeking treatment in 2020.
One cancer that bucks the trend is leukaemia in women, which was much higher than average in 2020 but has returned back to normal in 2021.
I have reproduced the graphs below of the cancers that are on the rise. If anyone has an idea why it would be these ones in particular then please comment below.
