Is Climaticide a word? If not it should be. Killing oneself/a country/an industry in the name of climate change. And unlike traditional suicide, climaticide is protracted, just to make sure you feel the pain for longer.
Here is Markus Krebber, CEO of RWE (a German multinational energy company), giving an interview in March. In the interview he rejects the notion of keeping open Germany’s remaining nuclear power plants (which closed shortly afterwards). “There is still enough electricity”, he said.
Fast forward a few months and here Markus is again.
Bild reports that Mr. Krebber says “as an industrial location, Germany has a serious problem: We don’t have as much energy available as we need.”
"A scarce energy supply leads to high prices - this endangers the competitiveness of Germany as an industrial location. We are seeing the first signs of de-industrialization.”
It’s almost as if these highly paid CEOs don’t know what they’re doing. Almost as if they are following a climate religion without thinking through the consequences.
My partner is absolutely convinced that we'll innovate our way out of this, that Germany is leading the way, and that renewable energy is the best thing since sliced (and now distinctly untoasted) bread. In South Africa, we are feeling the grave, economy-obliterating effects of no electricity - and the deindustrialization that has followed, as sure as night follows day. This is where you are all headed, mark my words, unless you can arrest the madness. I've given up even trying to convince him that the renewables rapture is not coming - or if it ever does, it will be too late and not what it's all cut out to be. Sure, the benighted windmills are starting to scythe their way through our beautiful landscape, and no doubt we will be engulfed in a tsunami of solar panels, but it will be as good as flogging a dead horse. What's happening here, and what is still to come, is more petrifying than the best that the psyop monsters can cook up. This is real collapse of a once thriving economy, and it is going to devolve into dog-eat-dog very soon.
No inconsistency whatsoever. There is plenty of electricity. We just need to reduce the population commensurately.
