Your new mission, if you choose to accept it, is to share these ‘Must-Reads’ as far and as often as humanly possibly.
I spend a lot of time each day gathering new information and interesting articles. I then pick the most interesting topic and write about it but that leaves a lot of information that I’m not sharing.
Below is a summary of all the latest articles and information that I’ve found. Today, this is a slimmed down version for all subscribers but on other days will be for only paid subscribers.
Climate Change
You will go along with the Net Zero scam or you won’t be able to afford a house. Your mortgage will be cheaper – as long as you buy a heat pump, Government says. Homeowners who install heat pumps and insulation in their homes are to be offered lower mortgage rates as part of a number of Government-backed schemes.
Fossil fuel firms owe climate reparations of $209bn a year, says study. BP, Shell, ExxonMobil, Total, Saudi Arabia’s state oil company and Chevron are among the largest 21 polluters responsible for $5.4tn (£4.3tn) in drought, wildfires, sea level rise, and melting glaciers among other climate catastrophes expected between 2025 and 2050, according to groundbreaking analysis published in the journal One Earth. The study considers this to be a substantial yet conservative price tag, as the methodology excludes the economic value of lost lives and livelihoods, species extinction and other biodiversity loss, as well as other wellbeing components not captured in GDP. Your energy bills are about to get even more expensive.
John Kerry Declares War on US Farmers: Gov’t Farm Confiscations ‘Not Off The Table’. Small farms are significant emitters of nitrogen, according to Biden’s “climate czar” John Kerry who is pushing for the U.S. federal government to crack down on farming in America to combat “global warming.”
Net-zero targets risk doing more harm than good, Italian central banker warns. ‘If you allow us to tear down all our historical buildings and build energy efficient ones, then we can do it.’ Paolo Angelini, deputy governor at the Bank of Italy, said in an interview with POLITICO that concentrating on long-term targets, rather than focusing on the intermediate steps needed to reach them, may end up destabilizing the economy, not least by forcing banks to change their lending policies faster than the society they serve can change its behavior.
Covid
[2019] - Deadly Germ Research Is Shut Down at Army Lab Over Safety Concerns. Problems with disposal of dangerous materials led the government to suspend research at the military’s leading biodefense center. “Research is currently on hold,” the United States Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, in Fort Detrick, Md., said in a statement on Friday. The shutdown is likely to last months, Caree Vander Linden, a spokeswoman, said in an interview.
Covid Mandates & Lockdowns
If Your Toddler Isn’t Talking Yet, the Pandemic Might Be to Blame. Children who spent little time socializing are talking later and treatment is scarce. In an analysis of nearly 2.5 million children younger than 5 years old, researchers at health-analytics company Truveta found that for each year of age, first-time speech delay diagnoses increased by an average of 1.6 times between 2018-19 and 2021-22. The highest increase was among 1-year-olds, the researchers said. You mean the response to the pandemic might be to blame, WSJ, not the pandemic.
Australia - Hundreds of students return to remote learning and masks amid COVID outbreaks. Almost a dozen public schools have returned to remote learning this week amid COVID-19 outbreaks that have also prompted one Sydney campus to reinstate a temporary mask mandate.
Brownstone examines what we knew in the early days of Covid. The claim is now everywhere: we had to lock down because we just didn’t know about this virus. It was all very confusing and we had to play it safe. We had no other option because we just had no clarity about what we were dealing with. The precautionary principle dictated the unprecedented actions. Actually, the precautionary principle goes both directions. It also dictates that we not enact policies that we know for sure would wreck lives and liberties. They did it anyway, without sufficient knowledge that the measures would achieve any positive good.
Economy/Energy/Finance
Armed guards, helicopters and forklifts drafted in to move 200 tonnes of gold to new vault. The gold was transported from the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) headquarters in central Amsterdam to a vault in the nearby city of Haarlem. The gold will eventually be moved again in 2023 to a Ministry of Defence site called Camp New Amsterdam, to be built in Zeist some 55km (33 miles) south of the capital. Why is the DNB moving gold into a military facility?
Iraq bans US dollar transactions in latest move towards ‘de-dollarization’. The Interior Ministry has said that violators of this ban will be subject to legal punishment, including fines and even jail time.
Politics
Lew Rockwell says the middle class is being systematically destroyed. If you wanted to destroy the middle class, one way that you could accomplish that goal would be to flood the system with money. Of course that is precisely what we have witnessed over the past few years. Our leaders have pumped trillions of new dollars into the system, and the wealthy have gotten much, much wealthier. But meanwhile, the rest of us have seen the cost of living rise much faster than our paychecks have. As a result, we are getting poorer and the middle class is shrinking.
HART Group has added something else to your to-do list: Re-read George Orwell’s 1984 and take detailed notes. Using particular labels has become the unbeatable weapon du jour of online warfare. If you successfully brand someone a racist, a conspiracy theorist, an anti-vaxxer, alt-right or an antisemite (ideally several of these at once), you neutralise everything-they-ever-said-ever. Boom. Done. You’re finished. Next.
I posted this Monty Python video in one of my Must-Reads last month. Now, John Cleese is being urged to scrap Life of Brian joke about a man having a baby. Monty Python star warned by actors in readthrough for stage show that Eric Idle skit could be seen as offensive. When something is threatened with a banning, what do you do? That’s right, play it more. Here you go.
Science
Stanford professor says aliens are ‘100 per cent’ on earth, US is ‘reverse-engineering downed UFOs’. A Stanford professor who has researched unidentified aerial phenomena for the US government has made a stunning claim about the aliens.
Ukraine
President Obama banned from entering Russia after release of Durham Report. In response to new sanctions by the Biden administration, Russia’s foreign ministry announced Friday they are banning 500 US citizens from entry into the country. The list includes former President Barack Obama, along with American celebrities.
Ukraine will get 'game-changing' F-16s after Joe Biden gives green light for European allies to send the fighter jets to aid in the battle against Russia. So far, Ukraine has been relying on much older MiG fighters, 27 of which have been given to them by Poland and Slovakia. Only a few European countries have a supply of F-16s, including the Netherlands which has 40 and Denmark which has 30, in addition to Poland and Norway.
Armstrong Economics explains why Ukraine must lose to save the world. The author responds to a reader’s question - Mr. Armstrong, I originally thought you were just a Putin supporter. Yet as time has gone by, it is becoming very clear that you are correct and that Zelensky is waging this war for the West to conquer Russia. His meeting with the Pope and rejecting his offer to mediate clearly established he will not seek peace. Are we headed into a nuclear war? Did Ukraine really shoot down a Russian hypersonic missile?
Vaccines
India: 15-year-old succumbs to heart attack in Greater Noida school while playing. Health experts are increasingly warning that incidences of heart attacks among the young are rising. According to a report in Times Now, a hospital in Mumbai said that cases of heart attack in its emergency ward have gone up by 15-20 per cent. Most of the affected patients are reportedly aged 25 and below. India refused the Pfizer vaccines but used Covishield, similar to AstraZeneca.
John Kerry must be in touch with the Dutch government - their objective is to shut down 3,000 farms. The consequences are too awful to think about. A young 25 year old farmer took his own life in Holland this week. How many more 😔😔
Thank you for your excellent research but that article from Australia depressed me. I decided to click on the comments on the Australian newspaper article. I expected some ridiculing of the actions of the school but, no, just more finger wagging because people aren’t wearing their masks and panic because numbers of ´cases’ of a cold are rising. There seems to be such panic about long covid - is it really long covid I wonder?
Australia, one of the most highly vaccinated countries with some of the most draconian measures! I wonder why they are coping so poorly. Maybe locking down your borders, delaying the inevitable viral spread and jabbing everyone before there was any chance of natural immunity wasn’t such a great approach after all.
I hate to sound so cynical but really I despair!
